Ken Gibson brings more than 16 years of legal experience to his clients. Before opening his private practice in Gloucester, Virginia, Mr. Gibson served as a Deputy Chief at the U.S. Justice Department in Washington, D.C. There, he led a team of trial attorneys in prosecuting federal criminal cases involving human trafficking, official misconduct, and racial and religious violence. He worked on hundreds of sensitive, high-profile investigations and received a formal commendation from FBI Director Robert Mueller for successfully prosecuting a high-profile police sexual misconduct case in Los Angeles. Before working in Washington, Gibson was a prosecutor at the Commonwealth's Attorney’s Office in Norfolk, Virginia. There, he prosecuted violent crimes, including: murder, rape, armed drug deals, and robbery. He also spent a significant portion of his time as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney prosecuting offenders who sexually assaulted children. Mr. Gibson also served as a staff attorney at the Virginia General Assembly in Richmond, giving legal counsel to legislative committees, and in private practice in Richmond with the Law Offices of Douglas P. McGee. A native of Richmond, Mr. Gibson graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in foreign affairs, and the University of South Carolina Law School with honors. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for four years. He now lives in Gloucester, Virginia, with his wife and two children. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, attending sporting events, and exploring the many historical sites of the region. He is a member of the Gloucester Point Rotary Club. Professionally, Mr. Gibson is a member of the Middle Peninsula Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar. He is certified by the Virginia Supreme Court to serve as a Guardian ad litem, in which he serves as an attorney representing the interests of children before the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts.
